Our NY Kids Club Sports Juniors program is structured to provide toddlers and caregivers an established routine each week where children work together in a group setting, listen to directions and engage in exciting movement and pre-sport activities. Toddlers will master important physical skills as they gain balance, coordination and muscle control. Toddlers are encouraged to explore their natural desire to get moving and keep moving while allowing adults to support and direct them through age-appropriate games, songs and activities. Your child will use lots of physical and mental energy learning to throw, jump, climb, kick and run. Advanced skills such as stopping and turning are incorporated each class session. Each class culminates with our NY Kids Club Touchdown dance as we celebrate our athletes' hard work. This is an adult participation class, and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.
Our Gym Juniors class expands on the specific gymnastics skills learned in Gym Kids. Students gain self-confidence as they swing unassisted on the bars, learn new skills on the balance beam, learn and recall jumping sequences on the trampoline and independently perform forward rolls on the incline/decline mats. Sport and ball skills are taught every session to promote key components of physical confidence, like hand-eye coordination and agility. Concepts that are central to the structure of each class, such as taking turns and following simple directions, are emphasized, as they play an important role in the development of a child’s social and emotional skills. This is an adult participation class, and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.
