• Kids Fitness - Infant Milestones

    Our Infant Milestones class is designed to support the natural patterns of development in infants fostering growth through music, movement, massage, gentle stretching and tummy time. Original songs, developmentally appropriate props, and both energizing and calming infant massage techniques are used each week to stimulate auditory, visual, and physical growth. Nurturing instructors facilitate each class, providing caregivers confidence, knowledge and support in a safe and clean environment. This is an adult participation class; one parent or caregiver can participate with up to two children.

  • Kids Fitness - Babies in Motion

    This introductory movement class for your child is full of age appropriate activities which promote cruising, crawling and eventually that ever elusive first step. As an active adult participant in the class, you will be there every "step" of the way as your child builds motor skills on the gym equipment (trampoline and soft play mats), learns through music, puppets and sensory props, and enjoys social time with parachutes and bubbles all in a safe, clean nurturing environment. This is an adult participation class and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.

    A perfect class for the newly mobile toddler, Gym Tots builds on the lessons taught in Gym Babies by introducing basic gymnastics skills and reinforcing them throughout the semester. Your child will develop physical confidence through activities that focus on balance, a strengthened upper and lower body, and coordinated body movement – all set to original music. The structure of this enhanced learning environment promotes social and emotional development alongside physical skill building. This is an adult participation class and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.

  • Kids Fitness - Sports Kids

    Our NYKC Sports Kids program is structured to provide toddlers and caregivers an established routine each week where children work together in a group setting, listen to directions, and engage in exciting movement and pre-sport activities. Toddlers will master important physical skills as they gain balance, coordination and muscle control. Toddlers are encouraged to explore their natural desire to get moving and keep moving while allowing adults to support and direct them through age appropriate games, songs and activities. Your child will use lots of physical and mental energy learning to throw, jump, climb, kick and run. Advanced skills such as stopping and turning are incorporated each class session. Each class culminates with our NYKC Touchdown dance as we celebrate our athletes' hard work. This is an adult participation class and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.

  • Kids Fitness - Gym Kids

    Now that your toddler feels confident in his or her movement vocabulary, our Gym Kids class will focus on introducing students to the sport of gymnastics. Specific skills will be introduced throughout each class on the uneven bars, balance beam, trampoline and soft play mat circuit. Sport and ball skills are taught every session to promote key components of physical confidence (eye hand coordination and agility). Concepts that are central to the structure of each class such as taking turns and following simple directions are also emphasized each class as they play an important role in the development of a child’s social and emotional skills. This is an adult participation class and a parent or caregiver must be present with each participating child.

    Program is designed to develop body awareness and confidence through the introduction of fundamental gymnastics skills. Lessons consist of obstacle course activities, elementary balance beam rotations, trampoline, and ring instruction. Children develop confidence and coordination as they experience the joy of gymnastics. This is an independent participation class.

  • Kids Fitness - Gymnastics II

    Gymnastics II students are introduced to strength and form building exercises designed to progress gymnastic skill development. Lessons consist of floor tumbling, trampoline, uneven bar and balance beam rotations. Valuable developmental learning points are reinforced following USA Gymnastics guidelines. This is an independent participation class.

  • Kids Fitness - Gymnastics III

    Gymnastics III students continue to develop their gymnastics skills through participation in intermediate/advanced floor tumbling, trampoline, uneven bar, and routine building rotations. Advanced level coaches progress students through curriculum at their own speed following USA Gymnastics guidelines. This is an independent participation class.

    Gymnastics IV students continue to develop their gymnastics skills through participation in intermediate/advanced floor tumbling, trampoline, uneven bar, and routine building rotations. Advanced level coaches progress students through our curriculum at their own speed following USA Gymnastics guidelines. This is an independent participation class.

    The New York Kids Club Gymnastics Club Prep is a recreational program designed for students committed to developing their gymnastics skills in a goal orientated, team building environment. This class builds toward our more advanced Gymnastics Club program. Instructor/Director approval required. This is an independent participation class.

  • Kids Fitness - Sports I

    From the moment the whistle blows these little athletes build muscles, increase their focus and get a great workout each week! Consistency breeds performance in any sport and our class format is developed to give our budding athletes a predictable format in which they can excel throughout the semester. Each class includes warm-up games and stretching followed by an aerobic circuit to get the blood pumping. Skill-building activities related to several different sports are introduced in a non-competitive environment to optimize the experience for each child. Every session culminates with a group cheer to help the students understand teamwork and the spirit of cooperation. GO TEAM! This is an independent participation class.

    Indoor soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball and tennis activities increase coordination, speed and agility. Students develop strong muscles and a strong values base with an understanding of the importance of teamwork, cooperation and camaraderie. This is an independent participation class.

    Play ball! Students will build on basic skills in a variety of team sports as well as participation in weekly workout routines designed to increase strength, stamina and overall physical fitness. A deeper understanding of the rules of each game will be reinforced each class. Increased self confidence will be fostered in a non-competitive, fun environment. This is an independent participation class.

    Karate I is designed to teach children respect, discipline and self-control, while developing strength and coordination. Students will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of Karate as they learn proper techniques for elementary kicks, punches and blocks all in a safe, fun, non-competitive, structured environment. Our Karate I class fosters a true sense of self-confidence, cooperation and achievement for each student enrolled. This is an independent participation class.

    Karate II is designed to teach children respect, discipline, and self-control, while developing strength and coordination. They will also increase their determination and self-confidence by learning Shotokan katas specific to their belt color. Students are required to master their kata and individually exhibit them in order to obtain their next ranking or belt. This is an independent participation class.
